If you're interested in the Queen Mary decor and the airmen's mirror visit the main York branch at St. However, in the summer of , Bettys launched a more elaborate, more formal - and more expensive - reservation only afternoon tea. Visit their website for opening times and to more information. I've also had a lovely bacon or sausage sandwich in the mornings.
They also serve a variety of other food options wiyh something for everyone. The staff are really nice and friendly. The other bonus for me is that the owners allow me to bring my dog in with me Murray the Westie.

My dog is small and generally well behaved, I think larger dogs may be an issue but it's worth asking. Alternatively, there is a seating area outside which is ideal when it's warmer and there is a view of the sea. Thoroughly recommend The Tea Room, it's wonderful. Visited on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm with my mom and we both had luxury cream teas.
The sandwiches were lovely and made with gorgeous bread, the only negative thing I can say was that the chicken sandwiches were slightly dry. The scones were large, were still warm and served with butter and cream and jam and had a good flavour too.

We were so full that we brought our cakes home with us, one slice of red velvet and one of chocolate fudge cake, both of which were gorgeous! The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were served very quickly too. The tearooms is quite small the same as most but even on a small table in the corner we had plenty of room set in a lovely atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend this Tearooms and I am sure I will be visiting again soon. We called in at this tea room after a very bracing walk by the sea. Its very quaint but not much room between tables.
Hello and our warmest welcome to Selah!
We had tea and toasted teacake which was very good. The toasted teacake was huge proberbly one was enough for two people. Staff were friendly. I would go again. Maybe try the afternoon tea next time! Own or manage this property?
